I was delighted to photograph Faye and Lloyd's wedding, they wanted a very relaxed level of coverage to match their relaxed wedding day. They are both from Leighton Buzzard so a church wedding in neighbouring village, Stanbridge was chosen as it was a short walk from the five bells pub where the reception was to be held.
The couple had chosen to combine their two favourite foods into the wedding - Fay loves afternoon tea and Lloyd loves a barbecue - who doesn't love this wedding already?!
We met at the five bells and discussed the plan for the day - they really did not want a fuss or anything too posed. the wanted to focus on the guests and the party. We agreed we could take a few formal shot's on the village green - which we had to walk across anyway. The slide would provide me with just enough height to capture all the 180 guests and the large oak tree would provide enough shade for the smaller groups.
Faye and Lloyd said their marriage vows infront of all their family and friends, who laughed and cried in equal amounts I think! The cheers from the guests were deafening as we threw the confetti leaving the church grounds - we were lucky with the weather and the sun was actually really hot!
Managing to hide away from the harsh sunlight and grab some shade we captured a few photographs around the church and the village green - my plan of climbing the slide to get the group shot was greeted with some amusement - but it worked!
Once back at the five bells the wedding soon got quite lively! There were some incredible speeches, Faye's Dad danced around as he delivered a very well prepared speech which even included poetry! Lloyd followed with an emotional speech.
The band were soon set and the party continued long into the evening,I seem to remember the boys winning the dance-off!!!
